Example - Multiple Surname Project

Q - How much will it cost to research my family history?

This is a very common, and reasonable question to ask. The answer to this question, however, is almost invariably "It depends."

While this may seem like an evasive response, it is also very true. No two family histories are exactly the same, and each presents unique challenges. More importantly, what you already know (as fact as opposed to family lore) can make a big difference. The time period and location also make a significant difference in terms of challenges. But perhaps most importantly, the amount that you can learn about your family is, in large part, dependent upon your goals as well as what you are willing to spend.

You can hire a genealogist to spend a few hours on your family, and you will likely receive some results. This might be ideal for locating a particular birth, marriage, or death that has been eluded you for some time, or to have your research to-date reviewed. Alternatively, one can spend $5,000 - $10,000 or more, depending on how far back you want to go, into which countries the research takes you, and what records need to be retrieved.

The objective of Ancestors & Cousins is to customize each project to the individual clients goals and budget. Starting the conversation is as simple as sending an email, making a call, or completing the contact form.
