JewishGen have have recently announced the following updates to their site:

Austria-Czech: Třebíč (Trebitsch) Database:

This new database consists of 9,600 birth, marriage, and death records from the Moravian town of

Třebíč (also known as Trebitsch - now Třebíč, Czech Republic). This new index provides direct access to the original records of residents of the Jewish ghetto from 1784-1934).

Yizkor Book Project:

  • Ratno, Ukraine (previously: Ratno, Kovel, Volhynia, Russian Empire and Ratno, Kowel, Wołyń, Poland) - The translation of "Ratno; Story of a Destroyed Jewish Community" has been completed; and,
  • Sobrance, Slovakia - (previously: Szobráncz, Ung, Slovakia, Hungary and Sobrance, Slovakia, Czechoslovakia) - The first sections of a Yizkor book for this town have been added.

Ukraine SIG:

  • 1913 business directory of the southwest provinces of the Russian Empire (2054 lines of information) have been added.
  • Marriages & Divorces (1089 lines of information) from:
    • Smiela (previously Smiela, Cherkassy, Kiev, Russian Empire, and Smiela, Kiev, Ukraine SSR, Soviet Union);
    • Moshny (previously Moshny, Cherkassy, Kiev, Russian Empire, and Moshny, Kiev, Ukraine SSR, Soviet Union);
    • Priluki (previously Priluki, Priluki, Poltava, Russian Empire and, Priluki, Chernigov, Ukraine SSR, Soviet Union);
    • Mogilev-Podolskiy (previously Mogilev, Mogilev, Podolia, Russian Empire, and Mogilev-Podolski, Vinnitsa, Ukraine SSR, Soviet Union); and,
    • Nikolayev (previously Nikolayev, Proskurov, Podolia, Russian Empire, and Nikolayev, Kamenets-Podolski, Ukraine SSR, Soviet Union).


Krements Concordance (Master Name and Place Index): Approximately 69,000 new records added.


Bessarabia SIG:

  • Cemeteries:
    • Rezina New Jewish Cemetery (previously Rezina, Orgieev, Bessarabia, Russian Empire, and Rezina-Târg, Orhei, Basarabia, Romania) was photographed and indexed (149 records with photos).
    • Ungheni Jewish Cemetery (previously Ungeny, Bieltsy, Bessarabia, Russian Empire, and Ungheni-Târg, Bălţi, Basarabia, Romania was indexed and photographed (347 records with photos).


  • History of Jews In Bessarabia: Two new articles were added, each of which contain information about synagogues, cemeteries and other important places, along with photos.


  • New Databases:
    • Bessarabian Newspapers from 1850s to 1940; and,
    • The Bessarabia Revision List (this should be very valuable, but I don't think that it has been released yet - "major update will be announce in the next few weeks".
