Hit A Wall? - Keep Checking Back

If you have searched for records without success, check again, and again, and again. Just because you had already searched for information regarding an ancestor, it isn't necessarily safe to assume that the records are not available. It is very possible that they simply were not available online the last time you checked, but they may be available now. Search again.

Genealogy companies are constantly making additions to their databases. Ancestry.com (see below) has added more than a billion new records to their database this year alone (yes, that "billion" with a "b"!), and they are not the only ones expanding their databases.

With the new year, perhaps it is time to take a fresh look at your tree, and to search for records for which you had previous search without success during this past year, or in previous years.

If you still don't find what you are looking for, try again next year.
