Neanderthals In Italy 100,000 Years Earlier Than Thought

An estimate of 2.5% Neanderthal DNA from 23andme.

This image is a copy of the estimate from 23andMe of how much Neanderthal DNA I have. According to 23andMe, approximately 2.5% of my DNA is from Neanderthals. Before you go thinking that anything negative about me based on my Neanderthal DNA, it is important to understand 2 things:

              1. It is a myth that Neanderthals were not intelligent. Science has concluded that they were "highly intelligent; and,
              2. My 2.5% Neanderthal DNA is less Neanderthal DNA than the 2.7% that the average person of European or Japanese descent, and inline with the 2.5% that the average person of Chinese descent.
